Amber Fort:
Amber Fort built in 16th century by Maharaja Man Singh, it sprawls on the hillside. The palace was the residence of the Rajput Maharajas and their families. At the entrance to the palace near the fort’s Ganesh Gate, there is a temple dedicated to Shila Devi, a Goddess of the Chaitanya cult, which was given to Raja Man Singh when he defeated the Raja of Jessore, Bengal in 1604. Amber today is nothing but a reflection of the glorious past of the fierce Kachwaha Dynasty that ruled over this region from 12th to 18th century.
Jaigarh Fort:
This fort is situated on the promontory called the Cheel ka Teela (Hill of Eagles) of the Aravalli range; it overlooks the Amber Fort and the Maota Lake, near Amber in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The fort was built by Jai Singh II in 1726 to protect the Amber Fort and its palace complex and was named after him.
The fort, rugged and similar in structural design to the Amber Fort, is also known as Victory Fort. It has a length of 3 kms along the north–south direction and a width of 1 km. The fort features a cannon named “Jaivana”, which was manufactured in the fort precincts and was then the world’s largest cannon on wheels.
Nahargarh Fort:
Nahargarh Fort stands on the edge of the Aravalli Hills, overlooking the city of Jaipur. Along with Amer Fort and Jaigarh Fort, Nahargarh once formed a strong defense ring for the city. The fort was originally named Sudarshangarh, but it became known as Nahargarh, which means ‘abode of tigers’. The popular belief is that Nahar here stands for Nahar Singh Bhomia, whose spirit haunted the place and obstructed construction of the fort. Nahar’s spirit was pacified by building a temple in his memory within the fort, which thus became known by his name.
Govind Devji Temple:
Govind Dev Ji temple of Gaudiya Vaishnavism tradition is situated in City Palace of Jaipur. The temple is dedicated to Govind Dev (Krishna) and his consort Radha. The deities of the temple were brought from Vrindavan by Raja Sawai Jai Singh II, the founder of Jaipur. Sri Radha Govind Dev ji temple is one of the most important temple outside Vrindavan. Temple was built by mugal badshah Akbar. According to popular legend, Lord Krishna’s image in the temple looks exactly like Krishna’s form during his avatar on Earth.
Galtaji
Galtaji is an ancient Hindu pilgrimage site situated 10 km from Jaipur on Jaipur-Agra highway near Sisodia Rani Garden. The main temple here is temple of Galtaji in constructed in pink stone. The site consists of a series of temples built into a narrow crevice in the ring of hills that surrounds Jaipur. A natural spring emerges high on the hill and flows downward, filling a series of sacred kunds (water tanks) in which pilgrims bathe.
Moti Dungri
Moti Dungri temple is located in the center of Jaipur city. Moti Dungri is basically a small hill, which means Pearl Hill. There is a Temple and a Palace on this hill.Dedicated to Lord Ganesha in Jaipur. It was built in 1761 under supervision of Seth Jai Ram Paliwal. The temple is located next to the Birla Temple.
